Hello, I am a long time DHHIG member.
We voted for several people on the board yet we don’t know what they are doing. There are no board meeting announcements showing the time and location of the meeting. We are not so sure if the public is even invited to attend.
Members should have the option to attend the meetings. We as members supposed to be their “supervisor” and monitor our own board members to ensure that they are operating in the best interest of the organization.
I am concerned that the board members are required to sign a non-disclosure agreement, meaning that the information exchanged between Board and Members are limited.
Isn’t DHHIG a non-profit organization? They should be transparent so the members can be aware of what the Board is doing for them. That means opening their meetings to public and posting minutes on the website for everyone to see. It appears to me that they are operating in secret.
For example, there are several rumors going on around that the board gave themselves gift cards using DHHIG funds. Why are they so secretive about it? Since its DHHIG’s funds, members have the right to know.
We, as members, have the right to see DHHIG’s financial status, the budget report, expenditures, and so on since we voted for our board members and the fact that DHHIG is a non-profit organization.
I often get DHHIG’s announcements but they are often copy and pasted from other information and announcements for their events. So DHHIG, be more transparent!

I just read the treasurer’s comments in the “DHHIG update vlog” page. I wonder why he is so defensive!!! Hint hint!!!

We know..
He appears to think there are other important issues other than the “MEMBERS”. He seems to have forgotten that the Members were the ones that elected him.
We cannot understand why is it so hard for the Board to address those issue- Election concerns, Transparency, Membership involvement, Ethics, and By-Laws.

You should not just focus on the Treasurer but the
entire Board including questioning Heidi and Jeff’s leadership.
DHHIG really needs to start on a fresh slate. IMO.

Not focusing on anyone but those issue- Election concerns, Transparency, Membership involvement, Ethics, and By-Laws.

I wonder how did DHHIG get the fund? Membership?

No, membership is free. DHHIG gets most of its funds from the profits made at the NTC Conference, Holiday Luncheons, and One Day Seminar.
Few other possible sources such as donations, etc but at this time, we don’t know because DHHIG doesn’t share that information.
